For this jam, I took my inspiration from the LOTRO Cook’s Recipes. Blackberries are not a particularly popular item in my home, but I did make an effort to purchase quality berries from a local vendor, Annie’s Fun Farm. Like raspberries, blackberries should be used or processed as soon as possible after purchasing to avoid spoilage.
I began by rinsing the blackberries and putting them through the food processor using the plastic paddles, like I did for the raspberries. Then, as recommended in the USDA canning guide, I added the blackberries to my pan, and added an equal amount of sugar. For this batch, I had 2.5 cups of blackberries and the same amount of sugar.

I brought the blackberries and sugar to a full rolling boil while continuing to stir. 10 minutes at a rolling boil still held for getting the mixture to reach the jelling consistency I wanted. Then, I ladled the mixture into my jars, centered the lids, and finger-tightened the rings.

I carefully placed the jars into the boiling water bath. I returned the water in the bath to a full boil, and allowed the jars to boil for 10 minutes. As I removed them from the boiling water, I set them on a clean towel to cool and left them undisturbed until the next day (about 20 hours). Jars need to sit 12-24 hours to cool before their seals are checked.
